Transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) ended today on a positive note as the All share Index (ASI) added 0.17 per cent to close at 30,410.39 points compared with 0.16 per cent gained yesterday at 30,359.47 points.
Market Capitalization also gained N17.5 billion to close at N10.5 trillion compared to N16.4 billion gained yesterday to close at N10.43 trillion.
Eight of the sectoral indices led by the NSE Banking Index which appreciated 0.6 per cent to close at 324.85 points were recorded as gainers, against two sectoral decliners which were NSE Oil & Gas and Industrial Index while the NSE ASeM Index remained flat.
Okomuoil Plc, topped 23 equity gainers with a 4.98 per cent or N1.35 gain to close at N28.47 followed by Julius Berger Plc which added 4.95 per cent or N2.08 to close at N44.08, while Unity Bank Plc rose 4.80 per cent or 6 kobo to close at N1.31 per share.
UACN Plc appreciated 4.76 per cent or N1.50 to close at N33 per share while Etranzact Plc rose 4.74 per cent or 10 kobo to close at N2.21 per share.
On the other hand, Premier Breweries Plc led 19 equity losers as it depreciated 4.84 per cent or 15 kobo to close at N2.95 per share followed by Fidson Healthcare Plc which declined 4.78 per cent or 16 kobo to close at N3.19 per share, while Costain W.A Plc dropped 4.69 per cent or 3 kobo to close at 61 kobo per share.
Champion Breweries Plc lost 4.30 per cent or 20 kobo to close at N4.45 while AIICO Insurance Plc dropped 3.23 per cent or 3 kobo to close at 90 kobo per share.
Altogether, a total of 211.9 million shares worth N2.73 billion were exchanged by investors in 3,051 deals.
