Super Eagles and Watford FC of England attacker, Odion Jude Ighalo, has ruled out the possibility of joining Chelsea or Atletico Madrid during the January transfer window.
Ighalo who scored his 14th league goals on Saturday during Watford’s 2-1 victory against Newcastle to end his club’s five-game winless streak said he was not bothered about transfer speculations linking him with other clubs.
“The news linking me to join Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are all rumours and speculations because no bid that I know of has been tabled by either club,” he said.
“I am not bothering myself about this, but just concentrating on my game to keep doing well for the club to achieve our aim.”
On Saturday, Ighalo scored a controversial opener for his club, having been adjudged to be marginally off-side before finding the target in the first minute of the second half. He later provided assistance for the goal that sealed the victory against a rejuvenated Newcastle team. Watford’s last victory in an EPL game was a 3-0 spanking of Liverpool on December 20, 2015, during the team’s run of form that earned Ighalo the Barclay’s Player of the Month (December) as well as his coach, the prestigious manger of the month prize.
The Saturday feat was also Watford’s second recent victory over Newcastle United after claiming a 1-0 victory in an FA Cup clash.
