The structure, which is under construction by Fourscore Heights Limited, collapsed Monday afternoon, the possible reason of the collapse and the number of people believed to be trapped have yet to be determined.
Emergency services are encountering hindrance, as far as 200 meters, to access the collapse site due to gridlock.
As soon as the news of the collapse became public, a letter purportedly written in February 2021 and signed by Mr. Muritala Olawale Managing Director, Prowess Engineering Limited addressed to the developer intimating him of the withdrawal of their structural consultancy services because of certain issues of compromised quality.
From a video circulating online a man who claimed to be the driver of Mr. Femi Osibona was seen crying saying he was on his way to drop his “Oga” at the airport when he asked him to stop over at the building site. The driver said that his boss is trapped under the rubble.
