Lawmakers in the Senate are currently screening Abdul Rasheed Bawa on his nomination as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). This was disclosed by the Senate via its Twitter handle on Wednesday.
During its Plenary, the Senate Leader moved for the Upper House to consider the request of Mr. President and C-in-C for the confirmation of the nomination of Bawa for Appointment as Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in accordance with Section 2 (3) of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Act 2003.
While reading his achievement, Bawa said, “I hold a BSc and MSc degrees from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto State. I am a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
“I have also been trained by the FBI and the National Crime Agency of the United States and United Kingdom respectively.
“I joined the EFCC officially in 2014, and was trained in the Act of Law Enforcement and Financial Crimes Investigation. I happen to be the only EFCC officer that has headed three different zones. By the end of my tenure, I will leave the @officialEFCC a better place.”
