Relief has come the way of all football lovers across the country as the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) has confirmed it would broadcast all 52 matches at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The TV station confirmed this in a tweet on Wednesday morning.
It noted that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Afro Sports for the transmission of the games.
“Newsflash: NTA signs memorandum of understanding with Afro Sports for transmission of 52 matches of Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire,” it read.
This will come as a relief for most football fans in the country, as they have been wondering how they would watch this year’s AFCON.
MultiChoice had earlier confirmed that Super Sports would not televise the matches, as they failed to win the bidding for the rights.
AFCON begins this Saturday with hosts Cote d’Ivoire taking on Guinea-Bissau.
