The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) has reacted to the outcry by many Nigerians in reaction to earlier news report that the 2023 general elections results will be manually collated inspite of the new electoral law mandating for electronic transmission.

In a Press Statement made available to the media Sunday evening by the Commission, the INEC National Commissioner and Chairman Voter Education Committee Mr. Festus Okoye said that contrary to the misconception arising from his interview of yesterday, which was reported by The Economyonline, that there was no plan to revert to the old system of manual transmission.
