Gunmen have kidnapped the mother of the All Progressives Congress Kano Central Senatorial candidate, Abdulkarim Zaura.
The aged mother of the politician, Hajia Laure Mai-Kunu, was abducted in the early hours of Monday before the Islamic call to prayer.
The Chairman of Ungogo Local Government Area, Abdullahi Ramat, who confirmed the incident, said security agents had informed him officially of the incident.
He said the woman was kidnapped at her residence in Rangaza ward, Zaura.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Abdullahi, confirmed the incident.
He said the incident happened around 2am on Monday, adding that the command had since mobilised personnel with a view to rescuing the victim and arresting the suspects.
