The United Kingdom has permitted Chelsea FC to continue all football-related activities amidst the criticism of its owner, Roman Abramovich.
The UK government after announcing the sanctions on Thursday, gave licence which authorises a number of football-related activities to continue at Chelsea.
According to the statement, the licence includes “permissions for the club to continue playing matches and other football-related activity which will, in turn, protect the Premier League, the wider football pyramid, loyal fans, and other clubs.
“This licence will only allow certain explicitly named actions to ensure the designated individual is not able to circumvent UK sanctions.”
The statement added that “The licence will be kept under constant review and we will work closely with the football authorities.”
It was earlier reported that the United Kingdom (UK) government has sanctioned seven Russians Including Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich.
The new sanction was announced on Thursday following Russia’s continuous attack on Ukrainian citizens.
