Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has declared his intention to integrate Alex Iwobi, Nigerian-born player into the main squad that would prosecute next season for the London club.
“At the moment some players might go out on loan. At the moment Alex Iwobi will be staying with us but for the others we have to decide if they need the experience to play somewhere on a regular basis, to finish their education, “Wenger disclosed on Saturday.
The 19 year-old Nigerian-born youngster who has been in impressive form during Arsenal pre-season games so far was on score-sheet on Saturday as the Gunners hammered Lyon 6-0 in the Emirates Cup. Iwobi side-footed Aaron Ramsey’s pass past Anthony Lopes to make it 3-0 in the first half, to that admiration of Wenger who wasted no time in praising his young talents.
“One of the advantages of pre-season games is that it’s competitive and it’s a good opportunity to see some promising talents. We saw Alex Iwobi, Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Chuba Akpom and because they practice with us it makes it easier for them to integrate into the team,” Wenger said after the game.
