Reigning African women football champions, Super Falcons of Nigeria has been drawn alongside host nation Congo-Brazzaville, Tanzania and Cote d’Ivoire in Group A of the Women’s Football Tournament of the 11th All-Africa Games, set for Brazzaville in September, this year.
The outcome of the Thursday morning’s Draw made inside CAF’s headquarters in Egypt pitched Cameroon’s Lionesses, who reached the Round of 16 at the just –ended FIFA Women’s World Cup finals in Canada, with South Africa’s Banyana Banyana alongside Ghana’s Black Queens and Egypt’s Lady Pharaohs in Group B.
The Super Falcons defeated the Ivorian Lady Elephants 4-2 in the opening match of the 2014 African Women Championship, enroute to clinching the titles in Namibia.
Host Congo will take on Nigeria in the opening match, while Tanzania clash with Cote d’Ivoire. All matches will be played in Brazzaville.
