The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibadan Zonal Office, on Tuesday, arrested two ladies, Jumoke Ayodele and Opeoluwa Temitayo, for allegedly attempting to smuggle a substance believed to be a hard drug to suspects in the commission’s custody.

The substance, according to a medical officer with the commission, is ‘colorado drug’ noted for having dire psychological effects on its abusers.

The EFCC claimed that the ladies admitted that the substance was a hard drug meant for the detainees.

The suspects were said to have wrapped the substance in small cellophane packs tucked inside sausages that they brought for the detainees.

Despite feeding detainees, the EFCC also allows them to receive meals from visiting relatives, after being checked by officials to ensure that the detainees did not come to harm as a result of what they ingest.

The detained suspects, Itiowe Kelvin, Oluwatobi Damilola and Ayodele David, were among those arrested during a recent raid on suspected Internet fraudsters in the state.

The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, said the ladies would be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for further investigation and possible prosecution.
