There is confirmation that posters of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State for the 2023 presidential campaign, have flooded several parts of Damaturu, the capital of Yobe,
It was observed the posters, which arrived that state capital on Friday night, were being placed at major locations in the city, including the central roundabout, which is strategically located at the heart of the city.
But the Political Adviser to Gov. Mai Mala Buni, Aji Bularafa, said it is too early for Bello to start campaigning for the Presidency, even though it is his right as a Nigerian.
Bularafa also suspected the Gov may not be aware of the posters, hinting it may be the handiwork of some people after his money.
He advised Bello to concentrate on delivering the dividends of democracy to Kogi people rather than be distracted.
“Gov. Yayaha Bello has every right as a Nigerian to contest for the president of the country but I think it is too early.
“He has more than two years as a governor to serve his people because his election was in November, 2019.
“It is also possible that the Governor may not be the one nursing the ambition but probably some people who are after his money.
“These things are possible in politics. You will see many of such posters as 2023 comes closer,” Bularafa said.
Yobe APC was reluctant to talk on the issue but the Secretary, Abubakar Bakabe, said he would prefer not to discuss the matter on phone until he gets back to Damaturu.
