Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE)

Transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) closed negatively on Thursday as All share Index (ASI) declined 0.17 per cent to close at 29,403.12 points as against 2.98 per cent lost yesterday to close at 29,454.09 points.

Market Capitalization also lost N17.5 billion to close at N10.1 trillion as against N311.14 billion lost yesterday to close at N10.13 trillion.

Six of the sectoral indices led by the NSE Consumer Goods Index which gained 1.3 per cent to close at 733.65 led the sectoral gainers as against four sectoral losers led by the NSE Banking Index with a loss of 2.19 per cent to close at307.78 points, while the NSE ASeM Index, remained flat.

Honeywell Flour Mills Plc, led 23 equity gainers with a 9.13 per cent or 23 kobo appreciation to close at N2.75 followed by Diamond Bank Plc. and Guinness Nigeria Plc with 5 per cent or 17 kobo and N6.57 increase to close at N3.57 and N138.05 per share respectively.

Continental Reinsurance Plc appreciated 4.94 per cent or 4 kobo to close at 85 kobo per share N.E.M Insurance Co Plc. added 4.69 per cent or 3 kobo to close at 67 kobo per share.

Conversely, UBA Capital Plc topped 25 equity losers with a 9.27 per cent or 14 kobo loss to close at N1.37 per share followed by Vono Products Plc which depreciated 9.26 per cent or 10 kobo to close at 98 kobo per share, while UBA Plc decreased 8.74 per cent or 34 kobo to close at N3.55.

FBN Holdings Plc declined 7.24 per cent or 48 kobo to close at N6.15 while Skye Bank Plc dropped 6.78 per cent or 16 kobo to close at N2.20 per share.

Today, Investors exchanged 306.1 million shares worth N3.1 billion in 4,650 deals.
