Super Eagles, Steven Keshi & Kate KeshiThe Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has commiserated with former skipper and coach of the Super Eagles, Steven Keshi over death of his wife, Kate.

Kate Keshi died on Wednesday night, in the United States of America, aged 54, after a brief illness. And NFF described it as a big loss.

“This is devastating. To lose a spouse is the equivalent of a tragedy. I pray that Almighty God will give you and the children the fortitude to bear this huge loss,” NFF President, Amaju Pinnick said in a condolence message.

Keshi, who captained the Super Eagles for over 10 years, in the process winning the Africa Cup of Nations gold, silver and bronze, was until last June the Super Eagles chief coach, leading the national team to its third African Cup of Nations (AFCON) titles in South Africa in 2013 and knock out stage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
