After five months of the closure of the Nigerian airspace due to lockdown occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic, the first international flight landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at 2:27pm on Saturday.

The aircraft, operated by Middle East Airlines, is said to have taken to the skies from Beirut, Lebanon.

Nigeria suspended international flights in March thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic.
