Ifeanyi Ubah Football Club’s quest for its first trophy this season has suffered a set-back following a 0-1 loss against Nasarawa United in the quarter finals of the 2015 Federations Cup on Wednesday.

The game played at the Kwara Sports Complex Stadium, Ilorin saw the two Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) sides in a tough duel, with the Lafi- based side who picked the prized semi final ticket to square up with Akwa United who also made it to the last four on Wednesday.

The Uyo-based club beat top-team beaters, Niger Tornadoes Feeders 4-3 on penalties after the quarter-final showdown ended 2-2 at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi.

Lobi Stars also crushed the Federations Cup title quest of another surprise package, BJ Foundation of Benin with a 2-1 victory in Lokoja to book a sem-ifinal clash against Enugu Rangers which thrashed El-Kanemi Warriors 3-0 in Abuja on Wednesday.

In the women’s Federation Cup, champions Rivers Angels were eliminated by Confluence Queens of Kogi in an interesting contest. The Kogi female football club prevailed 2-1 against the Port Harcourt outfit and will now tackle Bayelsa Queens who were 2-0 winners over Edo Queens in the semi-finals.

Also through to the semi-finals are Nasarawa Amazons who whipped Osun Babes 3-1 and Sunshine Queens who out-muscled FC Robo 2-0 in Oleh.
