Fuel-at-station-Nairobi-300x200Petroleum marketers in Lagos have adjusted their pumps in compliance with federal government’s 50 kobo price cut which commenced on January 1, 2016.

Most of the petrol stations visited by theeconomyng.com on Monday in parts of the metropolis displaced new price tags of N86:50 on their signage and selling at the new pump price.

Although, the number of filling stations without products still outnumber those selling fuel, there were noticeable absence of queues in most of the stations monitored around Surulere, Ikorodu, Ikeja, Victoria Island, Isolo and Egbeda.

A petroleum pump attendant in one of the major marketing petrol stations in Ikotun area in Alimosho council area disclosed that the station started selling their products at the new price in compliance with government’s directive because they don’t want to face sanction. “We are aware that this government is everywhere looking for who to catch and we have to follow their rules to avoid punishment”, he said.
