Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE)

Trading on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) close on a positive note Tuesday as the All Share Index appreciated 0.35 per cent to close at 30,325.11 points compared with 1.3 per cent added yesterday to close at 30,219.01 points.

Similarly, Market Capitalization gained N36.465 billion to close at N10.422 trillion in comparison with N132.245 billion gained yesterday to close at N10.385 trillion.

The NSE Oil and Gas Index topped seven sectoral gainers with a 1.4 per cent increase to close at 358.90 points, while the NSE Insurance Index capped three sectoral losers with a loss of one per cent to close at 138.63 points, leaving the NSE ASEM Index flat.

Today, a total of 245.4 million shares worth N3.222 billion were exchanged by investors in 2,988 deals as against 104.457 million shares worth N1.935 billion exchanged yesterday in 2,929 deals.

Market breadth today showed positivity as 25 gainers were set against 16 losers. Trans-nationwide Express Plc led the equity gainers with a 10 kobo or 9.52 per cent gain to close at N1.15 per share, followed by Glaxosmithkline Plc which added N2.04 or 5.52 per cent to close at N39 per share, while PZ Cussons Plc added N1.18 or 4.92 per cent to close at N25.18 per share.

Livestock Plc gained 8 kobo or 4.85 per cent to close at N1.73 per share, while Sterling Bank Plc increased 10 kobo or 4.69 per cent to close at N2.23 per share.

On the other hand, Vitafoam Plc led 16 equity losers as it decreased 27 kobo or 5.01 per cent to close at N5.12 per share followed by Eterna Plc which depreciated 9 kobo or 5.00 per cent to close at N1.71 per share, while Axamansard Insurance lost 13 kobo or 4.85 per cent to close at N2.55 kobo per share.

Cutix Plc declined 8 kobo or 4.82 per cent to close at N1.58 per share, while Unilever Plc dropped N2.17 or 4.62 per cent to close at N44.83 per share.
